new pics

Sorry for the lack of posts and pics. There is something terribly wrong with our computer. Every time you try to upload a picture that's in the pictures file it shuts down the computer. But this one seemed to work since it was a scan. Not sure if you can see to clearly but she seems to have dads nose and mouth. We both hope she gets my eyes in stead of brown. o offense brown eyed people. SO we had our doctor appointment today. Everything is good. The baby s approx 4 1/2 lbs. I have no idea how they can even begin to guess that. But o well. But she is healthy. Got to see a close up of the heart pumping. That was insane to see inside of my little girls heart. she looked as though she might have big feet also. lol. Lets hope that's not true. the kautz side knows how hard it is to find shoes. lol. but that's about it for now. Will try to get belly pics on here somehow. talk to you all soon.

update

Ok so not much to update on really. This pic is for 29 weeks. We had another doctor appointment last week. Just a check up. The baby is fine and growing just like she is supposed to be. The Doc did a ultrasound in the office. No pictures though. She wouldn't stop moving. Active little girl. We have another appointment at the end of July for a thorough ultrasound. 3D and everything. So i hope we get a good picture of that so we can post it. She gets really active when Adriana lays down to go to sleep. I am guessing cause there is more room to move around when she is laying down. I had my hand on her tummy one night when we were going to sleep and it felt like there was a soccer game going on in there. I dont know how she can sleep through it. Other than that not much is new. Just been hanging out with Wesley. Went rock climbing two weeks ago and have been to the lake several times because it has been really hot here. We are headed to Paris Thursday. will be there till Sunday. So that should be fun. Kind of weird to be going to Paris for the 4th of July though. lol. Ok well I am send out the pictures of us rock climbing in a minute so hope you enjoy. And look forward to the pics from Paris next week also. talk to you all soon. bye.

LONG TIME NO POST

I know i know more posts. We are sorry. Its been a little busy around here. If you hadn't heard i was working every day lunch and dinner so was only home to sleep and she was staying on base with me so we would actually see each other once in a while. And then on the weekend we were to tired and Lazy to do one. So again we are sorry. We took pictures two weeks ago to post and never got around to it. So we will be posting those along with two more from today. Also for all of you who haven't seen my new haircut there will be a picture of that also. Please Please no negative comments. She actually told me to do it so there. Ok besides that Wesley has been here for about a week and a half. We spent the first night in Munich Germany. Didn't really do a whole lot. Ate at pizza hut. I know what you are thinking why pizza hut when your in Italy home of the PIZZA. well for those of you who haven't had real Italy pizza its not that great and for those of you who have and liked it its not that great. lol funny. We walked around some and didn't see to much we ate at the Haufbra hause for lunch. that's one of the big brewery's in Munich. GOOD beer. We then make the 6hr trip home. Its usually a 4 hour drive but due to construction and one insane truck accident it took 6. The next day we took a tour of some local towns and went to the lake. Then throughout the week we both worked so Wes came with me and then we worked out and played some basketball then came home and played Rock band most nights. And it is much better than guitar hero which i was a big fan of. Today we made it to Venice. it was a short trip with some friends so they could get some things before they left. It was more of a here it is as we walked through. But dont worry we will be going back sometime soon. We are leaving for Barcelona next weekend and just booked a trip to Paris for the 4Th of July. But back to the baby stuff. Our next appointment is on the 25th. She has to get some blood work done before to check for gestational diabetes. but yeah i cant wait to see the next sonogram pic. well that's it for now. So We will try to post more promise. Ok so who just rolled their eyes. So if not there will definitely be a post no later than the 26th I promise you that. lol

appointment update ITS A GIRL!!!!!!!! 100%

So today was a busy day. Kahlua Got a hair cut cut his hair had gotten

to long and had started to knot all over his body. So we thought we would just shave it and start over. so I hope he starts to look normal again in about two months. He looks like those animal stickers when the animals have that huge head and little body. lol. Ok well on to the appointment. It was just a sonogram appointment. So here is the best picture of her face. Or should i say Autumn's face. Autumn Rayne Phillips. That's the name we have chosen with 95% certainty that that's the one. She has my BIG nose if you couldn't tell. lol. They got an awesome close up of her face for a while where we could See her opening and closing her mouth allot. It was so cool. "tear" We didn't get a picture of that of course. We did however get to see her in 3D though. And again no picture till next month. And it was better that way because she wouldn't stop moving by that point. And for anybody who hasn't seen a 3D ultrasound. WOW!!!!! It was amazing I mean you could make out features and everything. Not just some black and white object the doctor told you was something. She was gorgeous when she sat still. But we saw her feet, hands, arms, heart, bones, bladder and the kidneys. She had gotten so much bigger since the last time I had seen her. remember I missed last month and they didn't print a pic so she went from the bean to an actual baby with facial features i could make out. Very moving. O and they said that she was a normal baby and everything was ok. So that about wraps up this blogging moment brought to you by US! OK so some new pics to show you all. And if you haven't heard already our appointment on the 30Th was canceled and switched to the 7Th which is this Wednesday. So lets hope we get 100% confirmation that's she is a SHE! We are getting ready for Wesley's visit at the end of the month and looking forward to some good times and good travel. OK so that about sums it up for today. good news and bad news

So no new picture. will try to get one on later tonight. The good news i spoke of is that we have found out where we are headed after Italy 14 months from now. The bad news is not the base itself its just that its distance away from both familys. We are headed to Mcchord Air Force Base in Washington State. Its about 45 minutes south of Seattle. I know some of you knew that if she re enlisted that she got a BOP (Base of preferance) Well we did sort of. Let me explaine the procedure. You submit a list of 8 bases that you would like. We picked scott in Illinois and then the two in northern California and the two in colorado just cause Colorado is beautiful and is about equally between both Familys. so thats 6 then we put the one in missouri and last but not least put mcchord in washington thinking it would be cool but its last so no worries. Well we expected about a month of waiting to find out the assignment. So we submitted the paperwork last week at the end of the week sometime. And anyone who knows about the military knows this usually takes a little while well yesterday we got the news. We are headed to Mcchord. All the other bases didnt have any openings around the time we would be leaveing so there it is. We though about just extending another 2 years and not re enlisting but then she would get thrown in with everybody else returning from overseas and they get sent to montana or north dakota or places like that. So better of this way. And other than being far away from family we are really excited about it. We both love outdoors stuff and thats the place to be. Ther will be snowboarding and hiking and climbing and the sports teams in Seattle to go watch and the music scene there is awesome. And vancover BC is only 3 hours away. and all the cruises to alaska and down the west coast leave from nearby. So we are truely excited. the Only other bad thing being the weather there. rain rain rain. lol O and the fact that we know we are leaveing in 14 months. so we are well at least i am all like yeah lets go ............................ uh o yeah lets wait a year. hahaha. So Ok on to some baby news. I finaly really felt her move the other night. it was cool. And i go in a see her at work before i go to work. And yesterday she told me to shut up! get this its because she is active at that point anyways but she says lately when I talk she wont stop moving the whole time i talk. hehe. Can you say DADYS little girl. lol ok well i need to go for now. will try to get a pic up soon. miss you all and love you more. O and we are working on the baby registry thing if anyone has been wondering. so we will have that out soon. Ok so goodbye for now.

up date

Ok so first off sorry for the lack of posts, once again. Its just that there hasnt been anything new happening really. We have taken new pictures. Just completed 4 months and is now in her 5th month. We have gotten a kitchen table preparing for are growing family. We are also looking at buying a new car since the baby wont fit to well in the Eclipse. So long fun and sporty car Hello big family SUV. We are looking at getting the big 4 door jeep wrangler. So no minivan for this stay at home dad. lol. And we finally got Wesleys tickets to come over here a week or two ago. He will be with us from the 28th of May to the 13th of august. We are hoping for a good time while he is here. And the weather here is awefull for those of you who didnt know. It has rained for about a week straight and is supposed to throughout the 10 day forcast. But we all know thise weather people and their ability to accuratly predict the weather. lol. And I am starting to get sick again! So lets hope she doesnt catch it this time. well thats about it. We have another appointment on the 30th so hopefully she will be able to give us a higher percentage on the sex before we go crazy on the girl stuff. lol. well hope to talk to you all soon. love and miss all of you.

the baby

So she had her appointment yesterday. And the Doc is 85% positive its a girl. So i guess that massage lady was wrong. Even adriana thought it was going to be a boy. So i had gotten used to thinking it was going to be a boy. So when i heard it was a little shock. I am ecstatic about it though. I just have to switch gears from thinking it is going to be a boy. The 85% is due to the fact that the cord kept getting in the way. but the baby is only supposed to be about 3 to 4 centimeters long and she is 9 centimeters. The doc said that means she should be a big girl. lol. Adriana was hopeing she would be shorter. lol Guess not. WMBA here she comes. haha well thats all for now. sorry for not posting yesterday. guess what I heard

So a couple of days ago Adriana said she hadnt felt Bean moving for a while. So i hooked up the headphones to the Ipod and put on some Dave matthews band. She said it was to early for Bean to react. But guess what Bean started moving. Now when she is in the car on the way to and from work work she can feel it moving when she plays Jack Johnson on radio. " Thats my little bean" lol. Ok so on to what i heard. So last night we were laying in bed and I started talking to The Belly as i call it. And she said that bean started to move. So i put my ear to The belly and Guess what i heard? ........................... the Heart beat. It was so cool it totaly rocked my world. well thats about it for now. Just thought i would share that little tid bit of info. So did anybody guess right?

14 weeks

So to start off about two weeks ago we took a day trip to Milan on the train. its about and hour ride from desenzano. We spent most of the day at the duomo. The second largest church in Italy. It was amazing. I know some of you have seen the pictures online. Hoped you enjoyed. We were then planning on going to Rome the next weekend. Well on thursday i woke up thinking we were going to Rome and at lunch i got a call asking me what I thought about going to an island of the cost of italy. So that would work to so that was the plan, well for the next hour or so. So by the time I got home from work the plans had change to include our friends Nick and Lacey and that we were going to Budapest hungary. Nick had a rental car with unlimited miles and voluntered to drive so on friday afternoon we headed out. 9 hours and 3 countrys later we were there. Almost didnt get into hungary cause the rental car had a copy of the registration and they dont allow that. But guess what a border patrol agent being lazy, He let us go through anyways. So friday was a bust to see anything. The hotel set us up with a bus tour of the city with several stops through out the city that you could stop at and get off and look around and get back on the next bus an hour later. So if you saw any of those pictures online we saw alot in a short couple of hours. It was a truely amazing city. With so much history. After the tour we headed to the mall to eat at TGIF Fridays none the less. Man did we eat alot of food. i have eaten at several american reaturants outside of the states and you could always tell the dif. Well let me tell you not at this one. they even had USDA beef! We then looked around the mall and headed back to the hotel for a swim and the jacuzzi and for the girls to get massages. Well durring Adrianas massage something intersesting happened. She held her hands over her stomach for almost 5 minutes. She looked at adriana and said " your haveing a boy right?" She replied we dont know yet. then she said "well you are" can you beleive it. I was excited just like every guy is when they hear that i guess. It has slightly worn off a little though. I have been thinking about the bond between fathers and sons as opposed to fathers and daughters. the father and daughter seem to be a smoother relationship like mother and son. But honestly as long as bean comes out healthy with 10 fingers and 10 toes I will be the happiest father around. well today we went up to the Hospital for some blood and urine tests and we got to look at the delivery room and pediatrics ward. And they have the tub to have a water birth which is what she wants to do. And didyou know that you cant get the epidural with a water birth? But she wants to do it naturally. I think she is crazy but I guess thats why women get the priv to carry and birth the baby. lol. well that pretty much brings us up to date.

Some other intersesting news. You might be wondering why there is a picture of me above. well we had a deal that i wouldnt trim the hair on my chin or the top pf my head until the baby was here. I know some of you are still supprised to see hair on my head. lol but yeah they are both getting pretty long. I hope to braid the hair on my chin at some point. Yes I know mayB a little weird but hey who cares. lol

O and up comming dates.

the 23rd march. I am headed to England to play in a basketball tournament.

the 26th is the next doc appointment. We will hopefully get to find out what bean is. YES! lol

the 30th I get back from England.

the recent weeks.

OK so we realize we have gotten a little behind and we are truly sorry for the lack of posts as of late. So first things first. We have switched to a local Italian doctor instead of the Military doctors. For one the military doctors were over an hour away and they just didn't seem to personable. So we Had our first appointment with Dr. Pratti Thursday afternoon. and in the short but informative appointment she actually gave us a projected date of birth. Which are you ready for this Melinda? Is Sept 18Th. And during the sonogram they let us hear the heartbeat unlike at the base doctors. The little BEAN! was moving around allot. We could distinguish the arms and legs and the head. at one point he/she rolled over as if to moon us and say I'm not ready for you to see me yet. LOL. The next appointment was even scheduled and is on March 26Th.

So the next morning comes and I am awoken to Adriana saying that i think we need to go to the doctor. She had noticed a little blood in the morning, and rightfully so got a little freaked! which is when I tried to play the supportive role and say everything was going to be OK when really inside i might have been a bigger wreck. So we went to the near by hospital and had a check up with their baby doctors since ours couldn't be there due to surgery. So they looked her over and did a couple things and deemed that the baby were in good health and that this sort of thing is kind of normal after an appointment. something you think they would WARN YOU ABOUT! But all is good now. So we are roughly about 11 weeks along and her is the new 11 week picture and the new sonogram pics. actually only 8 1/2 weeks along

Hello everyone this is Adriana. I know big surprise :) Well we had our first ultrasound today and everything went great. We are actually 8 and 1/2 weeks prego. It looks like a peanut or lima bean, but Greg says it looks like an upside down pig lol. We saw the little heart, it was going super fast, but she didn't let us hear it, hopefully next time. Well there is nothing really new with me beside I sleep a lot, eat a lot and my sides feel all tight like after working out, which I don't do, but I guess it form all the streaching my stomach is doing. 8 1/2 weeks

Ok so here is the picture from last weekend. Sorry it took so long. Tomorrow is the sonogram so there will be a post tomorrow about that and i will try to scan the images on to the computer to share also. So until tomorrow then. Hope all is well.

health update

Just to let you know. Adriana has been sickness free for 4 days now. (KNOCK ON WOOD) Morning and cold symptoms. And i know its time for a new Photo and we have one. But i cant find where she has hidden the camera. I dont think she wants me to post it. lol. I will find it tomorrow and upload it. so be looking out.

a rough couple of days

OK so spell check is not working today so i hope you can make your way through this post without to much difficulty. Also i hoped you noticed the new baby countdown thing up in the right corner. courtesy of La nonna susan (grandmother in Italian.) And to answer a comment question the sonogram is on the 12th of FEB. To everyday life we go. So on wensday I awoke to a phone call asking me to come pick her up at work. She had been vomiting and dry heaving a couple of times that morning. She was also starting to come down with a cold. So all in all a bad start to the day to say the least. So with the people she is working for actually beeing nice they allowed her to come home but wouldnt let her drive. So hince me going to pick her up. She had called to make a doctor appointment but the Doc said that u need to come in unless you are cramping really bad and you cant keep anything down. So we just came home and she attempted to sleep it off. She did a pretty good job that day. Yesterday they also let her stay home. The morning sickness had faded but the cold was getting worse. She was now all sftuffed up and and feelling really tired but couldnt fall asleep due to the stuffy nose problem. The Doc said she could take reg sudafed but we cant get reg sudafed here and some say you shouldnt take any medicines until 12 weeks. So she is sticking it out. She is back at work today feeling prety much the same. I just talked to her and she thinks the morning sickness might be rearing its evil little head sometime soon so lets hope it dosent in our case and didnt happen for you guys. well that brings us up to right now on the info so im going to sign off. look forward to hearing from you all soon.

6 to 7 weeks

Ok. So first things first. Sorry to some of our readers for the lack of posts. In the beginning I had planned to make daily entry's or close to it. But since then a lack of events have occurred. So there for a lack of posts. lol. But its been about a week since the last picture so time for a new one and to update you on anything new. There has been a lot of sleeping going on, ON HER PART. lol. And yes Terri I am heeding your advice and letting her sleep as much as she wants. There has also been a lot of eating which is good. There hasn't been any weird cravings so far which is good also considering there isn't anywhere for me to get peanut butter, pickles and ice cream at 2 O'clock in the morning. lol. I do love the comment that Melinda made that its the best science experiment you will ever do though. We often sit around and talk about how much everything about her is changing now. Things neither one of us and i guess most people probably don't think about unless they are pregnant. Like the fact that she feels like her abdomen region is expanding. I cant even begin to imagine how weird that would feel. Well I think that about sums it up. We will try to do better in the future about posts. That way people wont get worried that something might be wrong. lol. we love you guys and wish we could be closer to you all throughout this joyous occasion.

funny story

Ok so I have a funny story. First off let me start off by updating you on the last couple of days. There has been a couple bouts with nausea. Seems to be after she eats pasta. So i guess no more of that.Its either the baby or she is trying to say she doesn't like my pasta. LOL. O and the belly is actually starting to show just in the smallest bit. kind of cool. Well that's about it so on tho the story. So a couple of days ago a friend approached Adriana and was like hey you wont believe the dream I had about you. She went on to tell her she had had a dream where Adriana was in the forest with twins. TWINS!!!!! and just to let you in on the weird part, she didn't know that she was pregnant at that time. Then she proceeds to tell Adriana that her dreams have a habit of coming true. At which point Adriana tells her that she is indeed pregnant. weird huh? Well that's pretty much the story. short but odd in the least. Could you imagine? Twins! Us on the first try. Wow. I can see it now MR. MOM and the twins in my mini van. LOL I refuse to drive one of those. haha. Ok well thats enough for now I guess. Hope to talk to you all soon. love and best wishes to all. and keep us in your prayers.

the start of the madness

Ok so where to start. Well at the beginning for all of you who want to know all the details. (MOM!) Lol kidding. Well when there are two people who really love each other ………… OK, OK maybe too far back. On the 4th we took the first home pregnancy test. And as you know by now it was positive. It was a faint positive so we wanted to be sure, so on the morning of the 6th we took the second and slightly more conclusive test of the two. It also came out a faint positive but darker than before. So on Tuesday we headed over to Vicenza to see the Doc and take a real test. And guess what? That’s right were pregnant well she is. And according to the tests everything is right on track and determined that she is about 1 month pregnant. We have the first Ultrasound scheduled for Feb the 12th and the second doctor visit roughly at the same time. So I think that will do it for this first edition of our little baby blog here. We love and miss all of you.
